TGRCG CELEBRATES THE OPENING OF LU LU CRAFT BAR + KITCHEN

LU LU Craft Bar + Kitchen is in the truest sense an authentic family owned farm-to-table restaurant. Owned and operated by the Easterday family; the Easterday’s have been farming and ranching in Washington’s Columbia Basin since 1958, when advancements allowed the land north of Pasco to be irrigated. The Easterday philosophy is to raise crops and animals with care and respect, and tend gently to the soil that sustains it all. They have been doing this for four generations and it is a great source of pride for them.

LU LU Craft Bar + Kitchen’s goal is to bring that same philosophy and quality to your table.

The Gilkey Restaurant Consulting Group was hired by the Easterday family to lead the project team in creating their exciting new 8,000 square foot waterfront restaurant. The Gilkey Group services included interior design, kitchen design, bar design, menu development, recipe development, development and implementation of all front of house and culinary operating systems, management training, coordination of pre-opening team member training and concept launch.

Through its operating values and entertaining design, the restaurant is being recognized as a unique, casual full-service restaurant concept capturing guests’ imagination and engaging their senses.

At LU LU’s considerable attention has been given to ensure all menu items are high quality, prepared in-house, made from scratch, and cooked-to-order. An example of this commitment is the fresh ground burgers. LU LU grinds their burgers in-house from a signature blend of natural beef providing the perfect balance of flavor from the marbling of the meat and their proprietary seasoning blend.

They also source local naturally raised beef from the Easterday Ranches, provide fresh Northwest seafood and local produce from Easterday Farms. In addition, these high quality ingredients are prepared utilizing unique cooking technologies such as a plancha searing grill.

LU LU’s enjoys sweeping views of the marina overlooking the Columbia River. The building utilizes varying elevations and facades to create a one-of-a-kind waterfront experience. The interior showcases natural reclaimed woods, stone and entertaining lighting fixtures.

The decor also celebrates the traditions and heritage of the region in a hip, energetic and entertaining way. The exhibition kitchen brings the cooking experience up front so guests can enjoy the aromas and hustle and bustle of the culinary team.

The space delivers an excellent entertainment value from the theatre kitchen; it’s crackling wood burning grill and active bar. It all conveys a compelling sense of authenticity, freshness and honesty. Wood tables and chairs, finished cement floors, interesting art and décor, and reclaimed wood walls create the inviting ambiance. LU LU’s caters as well as provides private event spaces within the restaurant.

Although LU LU’s is positioned as a restaurant first and a bar second, it is obvious the bar program is an important element. Enjoying craft beverages and snacks while overlooking the harbor is a critical part of its positioning. They have one of the region’s largest craft brew selections and independently distilled whiskeys, bourbons and rye collections from the Northwest. LU LU’s celebrates the Washington wine region and has made it a centerpiece of their beverage program.

The Gilkey Group and the Easterday family are proud to present LU LU Craft Bar + Kitchen to the Columbia Basin.
